Who are we?
Citizens for Clean Water was started by individuals who are concerned
about the quality of water in the Bosque and Leon River Watersheds.
We were saddened that the rivers we once canoed, fished, and swam are
now either unsafe or undesirable for those purposes. We want to be good
stewards of precious resources and leave a legacy of rivers and lakes
that future generations may enjoy. And we believe that in a democracy
the average citizen has a role to play in solving public problems. Among
others, the founders include a rancher from Comanche County, an agribusinessman
from Waco, and a former mayor of Temple. Citizens for Clean Water is
a diverse group united by a common passion.
